Using Wrist Braces Safely and Appropriately

Wrist braces are typically seen as a method of supporting your wrist and keeping them from further trauma, but what is the right time and place to be wearing them? Contrary to popular belief, you will find that wrist braces should not be worn day and day out; as a matter of fact, it can actually hurt you to do so. When you are thinking about wearing wrist braces, there are a number of things that they are going to help you do. They hold your wrists straight and they essentially prevent your wrist from bending in a way that will inflame the tendons or injure them. They are essentially there to make sure that the tissues that have become strained or inflamed are given a chance to rest and recover. While they can be worn fairly routinely the first few days, they should still be taken off regularly to keep those tissues strong as well. Essentially, after a week or so, you should start weaning yourself off them.
